Hello friends!! It’s Wednesday…I love Wednesdays because it’s check-in day with my coach, Jenny Smith at Team Elite Physique!
At first I was hesitant to share that I have a coach. After all, I purport myself to be an expert in the getting-in-shape realm. But let’s be clear here: I’m a freaking amazing coach when it comes to getting in better shape, getting motivated, taking those first steps toward changing your body when you don’t know what to do. But bodybuilding competitions? Girllllll. I would NEVER take your money and tell you I could prepare you for a competition. That takes a WHOLE different knowledge and skill base that I hope to have someday but I sure don’t now. Not only that, but I certainly wouldn’t tell MYSELF to do sessions on the stairmaster, no matter how great the results are!
I’ve never met Jenny in real life, although next time I’m in Vegas I’m gonna stop by the Team Elite Physique Training Center and say hello. We do everything online. Here’s a look at the process:
I filled out a questionnaire talking about my goals, history, and current exercise habits and meal plan. She then sent me a detailed meal plan and new exercise program to follow. I have options of what to eat for each meal, but whatever I choose has to be a prescribed amount. Believe me, I get to eat PLENTY.
Every Wednesday I check in with her, sending her a front and back picture of myself in my bikini. I also send her some measurements and my current weight, along with any issues or questions I have. She responds the same day and I get little tweaks to my program to implement for the next week. Sometimes it’s more cardio, sometimes less, sometimes little diet changes. For example, today she added more food to my plan because I’m starting a building phase (I’m calling it PROJECT BOWLING BALL GLUTES). It makes the weeks go by super fast because I’m keeping such close track of what’s going on with my body and I’m so excited to see what will happen next.
